A very helpful post - thank you. Would you recommend going to a national tyre fitters, or a Suzuki dealer. Some time ago I had my winter / summer tyres changed over by a fitters who were an off shoot of a Ford Franchise; and I suspect they damaged the TPMS sensors.

I think tyre fitters are more aware of tpms so take extra care.......i do always mention tpms fitment prior to any tyre work just to make them aware

I had Vredestein Quatrac 5s fitted to my wife's Vitara as soon as it was delivered (and sold the Continentals on ebay). They have been great in sun, rain, snow and mud/ fields.
They have covered around 15k and will be looking to replace the front ones before the weather turns wintry.
Great tyres

I also have the Quatracs on my Vitara and had them on one of my previous cars. I'm very happy with them.

The Vector 4 Season are oe on many Fiat 4x4/Trekking, look a decent tyre....

Suzuki should have something similar as standard on AllGrip models

Would the vredestein quatrac 5 be a good choice for a vitara s ? As I'm not impressed with the continentals fitted as standard.

Vred Quatrac 5 are great tyres for the Vitara. Have them on my wife's car and they work well in all conditions. Never had any issues sourcing them, I had 2 new ones fitted last week.
Order them on Camskill.co.uk and get them fitted at your local tyre fitter

Re: ALL SEASON / 4 SEASON TYRES IN OE SIZES
After taking a bit of an icy slide back in early December 2017 on the OEM EcoContact 5 ( in snow/mud mode) I decided to invest in winter boots first week of January 2018 on my spare 16" alloys.
I Currently have fitted Dunlop Winter Sport 5 in 215/60 R16 size. Fanatastic !
I haven't had a single scary moment all winter, ( despite trying sometimes ! ) totally planted and completely confidence inspiring, I am even running them at the recommended 'eco' TPMS setting - so slightly higher Tyre Px.
I also fitted a set of Dunlop Winter Response 2 to my missus little Fiat 500 back in Novemeber on another set of spare alloys, again, not a single winter 'incident' so far...
My daily commute is unclassified country lanes, A roads and a new dual carriageway for 19 miles each way.
We have had Snow in Norfolk during the last week of April during the last 2 years, so going to put the summer wheels on first week of May.
I need to get my Horrible gloss black 17" 'Misti' Alloys powder coated in bright silver before that though.

Re: ALL SEASON / 4 SEASON TYRES IN OE SIZES
I have Cross Climate's on my SX4. Had a few days snow here and there in the Midlands. Driving around had no problems at all. Able to stop and move off on uphill gradients. No loss of traction anywhere.
It has to be said that driving in such conditions is very much about technique and tyres, but allgrip technology definitely gives an edge.
The only observation I have about the CC tyres is that I have experienced picking up a lot of small stones between the treads and being directional a 'proper' tyre rotation is not possible without removing tyres from rims, hence I have only done front to back, same side.
Cheers John B

Re: ALL SEASON / 4 SEASON TYRES IN OE SIZES
Hi All, I've just bought a 68 plate SX5 1.4T, & will eventualy need winter/ all season tyres.
I had Michelin cross climate on my previous (Citroen) and they were incredibly noisy, so much so that I probably swapped the car just to get rid of them.
Can anyone give me any feedback on them fitted to a Vitara, as they were lovely to drive on, & also the only all season tyres approved for winter use on the continent. Otherwise it's back to changing to full winters, with a change back in the spring.

Re: ALL SEASON / 4 SEASON TYRES IN OE SIZES
I've Michelin Cross Climate +'s fitted to my Vitara S and absolutely love them. Great grip in the wet and dry and much quieter than anything else I've had before. Not had the pleasure of using in the snow yet but looking forward to it next winter maybe ......
I can't vouch for the non + version as I haven't had any experience of those but these +'s are really quiet on the road, and a hundred times better than the OEM Conti's that came on the car from new.
I'd say it could be the fact they were noisy for you as they were fitted on a Citroen, ewww!
They do tend to pick up lots of little stones though if you go into gravel car parks etc...

This is something I've not heard before; can you advise which organisation/authority awarded this sole approval for winter use on the continent to Michelin?
Thanks

Re: ALL SEASON / 4 SEASON TYRES IN OE SIZES
the only thing I know is that you have to have winter tires in Germany in the winter. But that all-season tires with M+S from before 2018 and all tires with the 3 peak symbol there are also seen as winter tires.

Hi,
Lots of makes have winter tyres approved (as above, look for the three peaks symbol, )but I think Mich Cross Climate are the only all season tyres to have it. They are certainly advertised as such.
