Thule roofbars
Does anyone know which Thule roof bars and fitting foot I need for my Vitara. I keep getting different ones on different sites. Or should I just get them from Suzuki dealer.

Try here for full part numbers/options.....

I have the Thule Wingbar......

Be aware that if you have a panoramic roof the Genuine Suzuki Bars need an adaptor kit to raise the bars, not sure on any of the budget options but the Thule set up clears

Hi Karl
I have fitted my Thule Wing Bars and they whistle like a kettle. It's really annoying. I wondered if you have the same thing or have I fitted them incorrectly

Re: Thule roofbars
The Bars are silent, the only noise I get is from after fitting the basket around 70mph which I kind of expected
Have you fitted the rubber load strip on the top and the lower plastic trim that you trim to suit?

Re: Thule roofbars
I haven't put the trim in that you cut to size underneath. Do you think that could be the problem?
Also the locking covers are not a snug fit there are small gaps around them. Is it the same for you or have I messed up.
I followed the instruction and turned that internal bar so only one bolt goes through the foot housing, did you do that?

Re: Thule roofbars
Yes rotated the lower bolt, I'm sure the plastic trims will cure your problem, had some bars in the past with them missing and a strip of black insulation tape cured the whistling
The end caps sit quite flush on mine, I will take a picture in the day light

Re: Thule roofbars
So I finished the job today, inserted the trim underneath the bars and hey presto they are now whisper quite.

Silver. I'm not super happy with the gaps around the feet. I will try to post photos tomorrow to see if it's the same on yours.

Re: Thule roofbars
I would never use roof bars again; my experience is that they are noisy, difficult to pack and unpack with an elevated vehicle, and also compromise fuel consumption. But of course, if you have a family, there is little alternative.

Yes but the problem with not using them is my roofbox just slides off.

Bit of gaffa tape or industrial strength velcro will soon sort that. :-)

Re: Thule roofbars
Has anyone tried Thule Wingbar Edge on the Vitara with the panoramic sunroof?
I'd like to know if there is enough space to open the sunroof.

Re: Thule roofbars
Please can you tell me what measurements you used for fitting the front bar on the rails? I can then workout the 700mm to the rear bar. I also see in your pics that you have put some form of protector strip down. What did you use?
I had the Farad set but have just manage to get hold of a full Thule Wing kit with 2x 591 bike carriers. I just needed to get the 4040 kit to make it complete.
