I'd never noticed that the Allgrip S-Cross didn't have hill descent control!
Suzuki do so funny things sometimes, I wonder why the Allgrip Ignis gets grip control but the Allgrip Swift doesn't?

A lot of the "ODDBALL specifications are often SGB creations but the hill descent not being on some AllGrip models is worlwide

The best SGB specification excuse I heard was the reason Vitaras don't have heated seats as standard in the UK was the leather/alcantara fabrics used on the SZ5..........yet the rest of Europe had heated seats standard as well as the same leather/alcantara fabrics

I have noticed on a few foreign sites there are some lower spec S-Cross that have the AllGrip option yet for anyone wanting AllGrip in the UK it is only on the more expensive Ultra.....some 4wd owners don't want the bells and whistles so again another market SGB are missing

I guess they have to mix and match the specification to hit a certain price point. I know the Vitara S came with all different specifications globally, better equipped than UK spec in some areas and worse in others.
It always surprises me how few SZT Allgrip Vitaras there are, at least down here in Kent. Maybe Suzuki GB didn't bring many into the UK.

The SZT Allgrip was a rare thing, there are a few I know of locally but the local dealers in Ludlow do seem to stock more new Allgrip models than 2wd, it is usually the other way round

I saw this Vitara last week in Reykjavik (excuse night photo)
AllGrip, 16" steel wheels,  black grained door handles/mirrors, no roof rails, honeycombe style grille, fabric trim and no apparent radar braking/cruise...........ideal utility vehicle

Interesting that it's allgrip and doesn't appear to have RBS/cruise. The SZT Allgrips had RBS/cruise as per the SZ5.
The SZT Allgrips I see are usually emergency service related.

So allgrip not available without the sunroof that my 6ft2in won't fit (have tried).  Wife and I both have a 1.0 szt allgrip which will be sticking with but can't then replace with new allgrip with no sunroof. Silly Suzuki. Bin sunroof or sadly we will be going elsewhere. Like Suzuki, need 4wd but not tall family friendly.... (Kids also tall so not worth going to shorter Vitara) Currently family has 2x s cross, a Vitara and a small hatch can't remember name doh.. will sadly have to look elsewhere in future, don't want to but Tall family just doesn't fit in with the Suzuki room robbing sunroof.....😭😭😭🥳

The new s-cross is certainly an improvement looks wise compared with the old model and should improve their sales figures. The look of the old model certainly put me off buying it but I would consider this over a vitara. The only thing is it’s a bit similar to all it’s competition now and if it wasn’t for the big S you wouldn’t be sure what it was from a distance. The front is a bit Hyundai looking and the rear a bit Honda but on the plus side it’s still got a proper handbrake.
Is there a new Vitara coming next year?

A low spec Vitara/S-Cross AllGrip is the ideal car for emergency services, rural doctors, forestry commission or even the post (locally we have Peugeot Dangel Trek as post vans, 2wd increased ground clearance, electronic front locking diff and usually out of service due to mechanical issues Rolling Eyes )

Saw the new S-cross this morning for the first time at a local dealers, 2wd Automatic and the lower spec Motion

Bonnet, bumpers, headlights and wings appear new although from the windscreen/front doors it appears the same body as previous S-cross until you get to the rear qtr panels where the rear qtr glass is the opposite rake and new archrs/tailgate/lights and bumpers along with Mazda CX5 style arches all round

Interior looked as previous models but with a vertical head unit and central heater controls below, it did however have heated seats usually only found on SZ5 versions

We got one in yesterday, I think it looks nice, it's the more basic specification motion, automatic in Sphere blue. Had a very brief play with it this afternoon, no built in sat nav in the 7" head unit but it does have wireless Android Auto/carplay. Got it for PDI tomorrow so can have a better look.

Sounds like the same spec as this one in Ludlow, I wonder if the navigation will be an SD card option like previous SLDA non nav?
Considering a majority of it is regular S-Cross it did look very refreshed externally

I got the impression there was no provision for built in satnav, I didn't notice a sd card slot. Looks like you'll have to use Google maps/waze etc via android auto or carplay.
Across and Swace along with many other manufacturers have dropped built in satnav and only use android auto/carplay for maps now.

Although very good my only reservation with google/waze navigation is when there is no phone signal and you have not downloaded the maps for offline use

My thoughts exactly Karl, I like the SLDA navigation and only use Google maps in emergency for road closures/ diversions etc although it could be argued that if I'd used Google maps in the first place I'd have been guided around the closure or traffic to start with!
I guess it all comes down to cost and a car without navigation is cheaper to build and the customer won't need to buy expensive map updates as they already have access to the latest maps and traffic info on their phones.

Had a bit of a chance to play with the new S-Cross this morning.
The 7" head unit is quite nice to use but android auto doesn't appear to function wirelessly as I previously thought.
It's now  more integrated into the canbus system and a lot of car settings are now made via the head unit along with it displaying vehicle information.
The instrument cluster now incorporates a digital speedo which is a nice feature.

The K14D engine is more cluttered than the earlier K14C and the cams are driven by a roller type timing chain (along with the K12D) rather than the multi plate 'silent' chain of previous engines - hope they're as reliable as the earlier chains.
K12D  and K14D now both have electronic  vvt on the intake cams but retain oil controlled vvt on the exhaust cam.

Thanks for the insight Iain, quite a bit changed  as well as the cosmetics
The head unit reminds me of some of the late Subarus I have driven with the vehicle information etc

Just seen another two in Shrewsbury, again both 2wd Motion spec one manual in Silver one auto in Black, no one yet seems to have Ultra spec or Allgrip models?

Looks like all dealers have been initially allocated Motion versions,  apparently Ultra versions are currently in very short supply.

Does anybody knows, can central dash speaker be added simply after buying Motion 2022 scross?
Are there wires already present, and does 7” head unit utilize central speaker?
