What Size Spacesaver Do I Need? Empty What Size Spacesaver Do I Need?

Post by Fin69 Sun Feb 16, 2020 6:02 pm

I'm looking to get a spare wheel, but I also intend to use the under floor storage area for the bits and bobs I keep for emergencies/dog walking.

As this set up would preclude me from carrying a full size spare, it's going to have to be a space saver. In which case, what size am I looking for?

Many thanks,

Fin

Suzuki recommend a 135/90R16 space saver, but I use a 135/90R17 which works perfectly. The benefit of the latter wheel is that the difference in diameter to the standard 215/55R17 is less than 1%, whereas for the 16" spacesaver the difference is 2.8%
I have loads of room to accommodate a decent jack, wheel chocks, tools etc using this wheel, which btw I got from ebay.

This is the correct wheel/tyre that Suzuki would have fitted to the S-Cross had Suzuki GB decided not to include on post 2016 S-Cross models....

Do you know another cars that use a compatible 135/90R17 spare wheel (5x114.3 PCD)? It is to facilitate ebay searching.

I have found this:
HYUNDAI TUCSON II
HYUNDAI IX35
KIA SPORTAGE IV

Thanks for posting that listing, Karl.

Unfortunately we decided against bidding for it in case we chose another make of car.

(I'm still hoping, and keeping my fingers x-ed, that a suitable Crosser Allgrip becomes available.

They do come around on a regular basis, sometimes even with the Jack/Wheelbrace kit, just search Suzuki SX4 or Fiat Sedici and ensure it is a red space saver wheel with the 135/90R16 tyre
