Suzuki’s core models receive the new mild-hybrid system
• CO2 emissions cut by 20% and MPG increased by 15%
• ‘ISG’ acts as a starter motor, generator and provides more torque
The Suzuki Sport, Vitara and S-Cross will be available with a new 48V mild-hybrid system in spring 2020. The setup will include a new K14D Boosterjet petrol engine and will result in lower CO2 emissions for all three models.
The new mild-hybrid system is said to reduce CO2 output by a claimed 20%, while also improving fuel consumption by 15% and boosting torque levels. This powertrain will replace the 1.4-litre Boosterjet option.
