I have not seen the Cooper AT on a Vitara, from the link you posted it states they are an XL (Extra Load) tyre that you may possibly find too stiff for the Vitara especially on a low profile 55 series

Yep, bought them this Monday in preparation for summer. I love how they look! Should arrive this week. I'll post pictures here how they feel and look like when I finally have them fitted.

Cooper and Avon are the same manufacturer these days. I have Avon ZV7 SUV summer tyres on mine. They are good tyres way cheaper than Conti's. They are also Cooper Zeon CS8. Quality tyres at budget prices.

Ok, the tires arrived today. I'm very pleased at how they look. cheers   It seems at the moment the Cooper Discoverer ATT is the only available all-terrain tires that's the same spec as the original tires (215/55/17)?

The tyres fit on the standard OEM rims. It looks quite chunky although it should be the same specs as the OEM Conti EcoContact5s. The ATT is 20 mm wider than the original tyres.

Posting some quick pics of the package next to the OEM EcoContact5 tires. Next week, I'll have them fitted on the Vitara!

The upside of large tread blocks is the increase in the ability of the tyre to grip in poor conditions, especially off-road. The downside is a decrease in braking and cornering performance in normal road conditions; wet or dry. Large tread blocks move about under load, especially lateral load.

I finally had the tyres mounted on the standard "Misti" 17-in rims that came with the car:

The reason why I chose the Cooper is that it could provide a good balance between not affecting the engine's performance and handling - by sticking to the recommended Vitara's OEM size; but at the same time still have that rugged street off-roader look! Wink  And I like the results quite a lot!

Did a preliminary drive today and was surprised how quiet the tyres are despite it being an all-terrain. Original TPMS sensors from the previous tyres are also reused and are working fine. Gear changes all the way up to 6th. I've got the Vitara automatic.

Look great and nice they are the original sizes as previously any decent tyres meant dropping to 215/60R16

Looking good! What’s the handling and cornering like considering they're extra load tyres? What are they like at high speeds? I’m weighing up my options for AT tyres and really dont wanna have to buy new 16inch rims.

Hi, sorry just noticed this. Haven't looked at the forum for a while, anyway since my last update we still had the winter speed limited only to 100 km/h. Just had a switch to summer speed limits and now had a chance to test on the highway with a trip up north. The ride is a definitely stiffer, there's noticeable noise at higher speeds, also mileage went down a bit. In general above 120 km/h, the previous road-biased tyres I had felt a bit better. But I guess that's what you get from having off-road oriented tyres! I still like these tyres though Very Happy
