Re: Facelift Vitara in Finland
Finished result

But after this project parking sensors in the front bumper won't work, here is short video showing engine start:
Can someone help with this issue? I just unplugged front parking sensors (and fog lamps) when removing front bumper and after LED panel installation I put everything carefully back together. I placed an order for the OBDII reader, maybe I can read/reset possible error code with it.

Re: Facelift Vitara in Finland
Have you tried disconnecting the battery for a while to reset everything?
The LED install is very nice

Thanks! I just disconnected the battery for a couple of minutes, but no help.

Thank you! Is there separate fuse for the PDC's? I checked fuse box panels and manual but I couldn't find fuse for the PDC's.

Re: Facelift Vitara in Finland
I have checked the manual for the pre facelift Vitara (non colour dash read out) and "service parking sensors" refers to a damaged sensor (I have known this to be a stone chip) or wiring damage or connections
There is a fault code for each sensor to identify which one the problem lies with and can be read with the Suzuki Scan tool, I am not sure if a generic obd reader will show these codes although it could be shown in the BCM section of SZ viewer?

Here is a list of error codes in our Vitara (SZ Viewer for Windows):
HVAC
B1504 Sun load Sensor Circuit Malfunction - High level
IPC
B1851 Body system code (Manufacturer)
B1860 Body system code (Manufacturer)
B1861 Body system code (Manufacturer)
B1862 Body system code (Manufacturer)
B1863 Body system code (Manufacturer)
KLS
B1102 Body system code (Manufacturer)
I was able to clear only the last one of the error codes (B1102). Unfortunately I have no idea what are these codes, can someone help before I take Vitara to a local dealer?

Re: Facelift Vitara in Finland
First off ignore B1504 Sun load Sensor Circuit Malfunction - High level all Suzuki's scan tools show this as a fault, you can change the the sensor and it will still show and never cause a problem
Here are the other codes ....
B1851: Front Parking Sensor Communication Bus Error
Combination meter cannot send / receive communication data to / from front parking sensor.
B1852: Rear Parking Sensor Communication Bus Error
Combination meter cannot send / receive communication data to / from rear parking sensor.
B1860: Front-Left Parking Sensor
•Parking sensor system control module detected fault in inner part of parking sensor (front-left).
•Fault is detected in circuit for communication with parking sensor (front-left).
B1861: Front-Center-Left Parking Sensor
•Parking sensor system control module detected fault in inner part of parking sensor (front-center-left).
•Fault is detected in circuit for communication with parking sensor (front-center-left).
B1862: Front-Center-Right Parking Sensor
•Parking sensor system control module detected fault in inner part of parking sensor (front-center-right).
•Fault is detected in circuit for communication with parking sensor (front-center-right).
B1863: Front-Right Parking Sensor
•Parking sensor system control module detected fault in inner part of parking sensor (front-right).
•Fault is detected in circuit for communication with parking sensor (front-right).
If you cannot delete a fault code it means they are "current" and the issue has not been resolved
The code you could delete was for the keyless entry
B1102: Mid Inside Antenna
Mid inside antenna ON signal is detected 3 times continuously.
Are you sure the connectors are fully connected on the sensors?
Did you remove the Parking sensor switch at the dashboard when you installed the LED switch?

Re: Facelift Vitara in Finland
Thanks!
I'll check the connection for the parking sensors in the front bumper. I unplugged single connector (all 4 parking sensors use the same connector). I have to anyway remove front bumper once more so I can apply rust protection paint. But I have to wait for a couple of days before I can paint (and try to fix this problem). Just three days and my holiday starts...
I didn't remove switch for the parking sensors while adding switch for the LED panel.
Keyless entry error code must be from the time when I removed floor carpet while adding soundproof material. I forgot to connect one of the internal antennas and I had some problems before antenna was reconnected.
edit. Where I can find complete list of Suzuki error codes? SZ Viewer identifies some but many are not recognized.

Re: Facelift Vitara in Finland
LED switch from china arrived. Switch is quite nice, but there is also some minor issues: button color is slightly off, switch sits slightly deeper than original switches, and lamp colors are slightly different. Also switch's clicking noise is louder than noise of original switches.

Connector for the front fog light. I used this connector as a source for the backlight of the LED switch.

Connector for the LED switch. Three cables are connected to the wiring harness of LED bar, red cable is going to cable harness of front fog light.

Backlight cable connected to the wiring harness of front fog light.

LED switch installed, notice the difference in color.

Backlight in action, it is more like orange than red.

Super! I like how you soundproofed the car. I did the same.

Another step in my soundproofing project. This time I decided to soundproof front wheel arches.
Ready to be installed. This time I noticed big difference in tire noise on old tarmac surfaces. More to come...
Hi Mikkeli, taking a cue from your upgrades, I'd like to improve the soundproofing of the wheel arches me too, is it an easy job?
Do other body parts need to be removed to remove the wheel arches?
Thanks and congratulations for your upgrades!

"Little" late reply, but job is quite easy. No need to remove other parts than tire (and mud flap if your car has those). And if you don't have mud flaps already, it's good idea to install those while doing soundproofing.

Re: Facelift Vitara in Finland
I have been lazy to do regular updates, but I now decided to post some updates about our Vitara.
TPMS is useful nice little feature, Vitara picked a slow puncture while driving home.

I carefully drove to a local tyre shop and there was quite a surprise waiting... 4" nail with head inside the tyre.

Luckily the tyre was okay, tyre was fixed using tyre plug kit.

There is a lot of negativity about TPMS but once you have found the TPMS works to your advantage people realise just how useful it is, had the TPMS not warned you of a low pressure the nail could have ruined your tyre beyond repair

Re: Facelift Vitara in Finland
April 2021: I had to change job so I decided to do some updates to Vitara. My daily trip to a new workplace is now 63 km per direction (126 km daily).
Boosterjet is now remapped by Turbotec.

Impressive numbers: 192,6 bhp (141,6 kW) of Power and 290,8 Nm of torque measured.

Guys at the Turbotec also installed 5 kW Webasto heating system with a GSM controller. No more cold starts.

April 2021
I also installed Defa ChargerKit 1205 Flex next to a LED panel.

In April it was also time to do service (30 000 km). My friend built brand new car workshop, Vitara was first "customer". Summer tires were also installed.

I'm not sure how long this has been available, but I bought and installed Defa Charger year ago. Here is link to English product page.

Re: Facelift Vitara in Finland
It´s not new. I installed it in my old Passat maybe ten years ago. Todays version is slightly updated. I also installed a timer and relay to start the heater(s). I moved it to my Vitara five years ago.Admin wrote:Mikkeli wrote:April 2021

As soon as I connect 230V the charging starts and the timer starts the heater(s) at correct time in the morning depending on the outside temperature.
