Does anyone have or had one of these fitted to their Vitaras? It's the plastic ones that seem to be clamped to the underside of the bonnet. Is it worth it?

Unfortunately came home today to find I've been hit by a boulder! I do remember hearing a clunk but was kinda hoping it wasn't going to be as bad as this!

I think I read somewhere that they produce a lot of wind noise

The EGR made bonnet protectors are fine, other brands can be horrendously noisy

I tried too buy an egr bonnet protector, very difficult too get promises of delivery but keep putting them back

I gave up in the end and bought this one its double sided tape fixing and is slightly shorter than the egr one. I havnt fitted it yet ,maybe wait until its a little warmer.

Karl, I think your right , the only thing is if this will stay stuck too the bonnet ,and then will it damage the paint when and if you take it off?. it fits very nicely but the instructions and very fussy about temp and primer for the 3m sticky pads. ive laid it out on mine and it looks great and I think it would do the job well.

3m tape is very good and can take some effort to remove, the only downside to 3m tape is if not a continuous strip (as on the EGR window visors) it can allow dirt behind the plastic that will scratch the paintwork behind it.....I have just removed some accessory external sill gurds from a new Jimmy and already at less than 250 miles there is a slight evidence of where the guards have been attached

If I was to go down the bonnet protector route I'd have it vinyl wrapped.
