Auto headlights Empty Auto headlights

Post by RichK on Wed Nov 29, 2017 2:45 pm

Mine seem to come on all the time lately. Its not even remotely dull but after about 3-4 minutes of driving the green dash light comes on to say the lights are on. Today was a crisp day, clear sunny and at midday went out and on they popped on. Having to turn the auto off now as seems silly driving around in bright sunshine with headlights on. Sensor clear, assume it the one in the top of windscreen, also car clean and sensors in grille all clean. Assume they are not a reprogrammable thing ? Up until lately they only came on at dusk or in a tunnel or multi storey car park etc, came out of said car park other day, lights came on but after leaving car park and driving 15 minutes home in broad daylight the lights were still on.

It is possible to program in three steps. See: Programming wipers and light

Yes you can reprogram them to switch on later.
I managed to work out the instructions eventually.

I have had a go but they are still not right, doesn't matter how sunny and bright it is the lights turn on after a few minutes of driving every time. Never used to be like this, only came on under bad light or tunnels, multi storey car parks etc. Something to add to the dealer visit list.

If not already done, make sure there's no dirt on the windscreen sensor.
