My Vitara is a gentleman. Today I was driving four women colleagues to a seminar in our capital town. We made roughly 125 km in one direction, though most of it was on highway, there were also some bumpy city roads. Not once it rattled! But as we came back and the last colleague stepped out of Vitara, the faint rattling began already after the first corner.

No, I've never experienced (un)occupied seat-related rattling, it either occurs on my side (airbag) or in the dashboard. In this case it was inside the airbag box while the dashboard has been quiet for a few days despite it got slightly cooler.

I bought and fitted the rubber strip from Aliexpress but unfortunately it has made little difference. I've found what does work is if I wedge something like my wallet between the dash and the windscreen. This obviously compresses the dashboard tighter and stops whatever it is that is rattling. Not a great fix for an 18 month old car though.....

Great videos.
Lets hope Suzuki take notice - if not, sticky-back foam on order!

I have an intermittant rattle/vibration from the drivers side door card /seat belt column, been to dealers with it and they took it all apart but found nothing out of place, everything was secure so put it down to plastics rubbing together, tried some silicon spray but no better, not temperature related because it is intermittant when cold and warm, told me to live with it

Totally unacceptable, if you have another dealer near by approach them with "The other dealership could not fix it" which then becomes a challenge and they will bend over backwards to fix it

I did hear of a B pillar trim/panel that had broken a trim clip mount that was exchanged under warranty as it had been damaged during vehicle assembly, these pictures may help you see the clips/tabs and help you pin point where is loose/damaged and which panel should be replaced under warranty...

A friend who worked in Car design/R&D showed me a trick they used to eliminate trim rattles that was a large ball of plasticine that they stuck to various trim  The weight of the plasticine damped the noise/rattle out highlighting which panel was at fault, cheap tool to try if an intermittent rattle that as usual doesn't show while the dealer is trying your vehicle

Thanks Karl will try the plasticine trick first and then try another dealer as you say it is totally unacceptable
