They are held on 3m strip's, the Uni Channel ones are rubber gasket fit no glue they simply push over the lip. Have a look on you tube address NM in my post above, they do make the car quieter!

What noise does it cut down ? as I still get a slight wind whistle from drivers door. Three trips to two different dealers and both admit there is a noise but cannot find where its coming from. Gave up now as changing car in new year.

I got the seals today, fitted them and went for a drive on a highway, fortunately it's a very windy day here. There is a big difference, at very high speeds 160-170 km/h (100-105 MPH), there is still slight wind noise coming through but with music on it's almost unheard unless you concentrate really hard to hear it. Very Happy When I came back to city and stepped from the car, I had no idea that the wind outside was so strong.

I recommend the seals to anyone that spends a lot of time on highways, for those that drive mostly in cities, the sound difference might not be of such importance.

My Uni Channel seals arrived a couple of days ago. I have yet to try the car at motorway speeds, but can confirm even driving around local roads there is a noticeable improvement Very Happy

Don't think it will cure my air noise, have had all door gaps tape sealed up, by dealers and myself, front and back door, door handles and window surrounds but still get a wind/air hissing at 40 mph and above, just like you have a window not wound up properly.

That's what I thought and I had a lorry chuck a stone at me about six months ago that resulted in a new screen. Thought it was going to cure it but air hiss still there afterwards Sad

Just fitted door seals that I came across on Ebay  http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Rubber-car-van-boat-caravan-truck-Door-Trim-Seal-SAMPLE-PACK/221048328968?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649
I used the small, but I was also tempted to get the x-small measuring the fitting area as height 10m x width 10m. They fitted well and do quieten down the vehicle. I noticed that I reduced the ICE volume by 2-3 units after fitting.
Cost at £5.76 for 2 metres is negligible, although it doesn't have a properly fitted ends of course. Delivered in 2 days.

Did send an Email to Uni but reply was You can buy from us, price for Suzuki Vitara door seal is $28/pair + shipping cost, you can pay with PayPal or Skrill to our account, 2-3 day after payment we will send you tracking number, delivery time is 20-25 days. You pay your money ....

Hoping to fit today - weather dependent! No garage!
Ordered 2 Mts, more than enough.

When I fitted the first version I tucked it under the firm plastic trim already fitted to the front edge of rear door at glass level, just to totally fill the door gap, even though the top couple of inches of the 'new' seal is not 'fitted' to anything. It floats there because there's no door edge to clip on.

After much fitting, removing & testing of both the small & medium versions from Seal Extrusions, we've decided the best version is the one in the piccies which is the Medium (eBay Item No 222497761342)
The piccies are of the FNS door frame.

Despite the door originally bouncing on the seal, this seems to have settled down now.

JD how did you get the medium to stay on, I order just one to see if it could cut out my wind whistle noise but it seems way too big and the grip side is too deep to grip properly, and when I shut the drivers door it just falls off. Did you glue it on ?

Just pushed it on to start it, then gave it a bit of a push/thump with my gloved hand. No glue.

Put trim on a hot radiator for an hour, seems a bit better, door takes a bit off closing and tries oozing out of gap, will see how it beds in, main thing is if it stops my whistle. Not sure it will as trim only goes up to bottom of window level and noise seems higher but hoping it stops air flow in door cavity and thus stopping the whistle.

One thing to be aware of trims like this is that they will trap moisture, grit and road dirt which will in time dull, scratch paint if you decide to remove it or even corrode the bodywork
Many years ago the original mk1 Vitara had optional rubber or abs with a rubber seal ,wheel arch trims, being rubber you would have thought there would be no damage to your bodywork but it turned out to be the complete opposite.....

Front Door Seals - Page 2 Right_wheelarch

The above is an extreme example but it all started with a small rubber trim?

Well the medium if def too big for my front doors, have to keep slamming the door to get it shut and when it does if you open the rear door it pulls the trim off. Didn't stop my wind whistle noise.
