I have scuffed one of my wheels on a kerb! Gutted, not serious and could be touched up and only I would know, but... You know.... I want perfection, any ideas? If new wheel is the remedy then I'll buy one, how much would that be. I'd use the other as spare and sell my spacesaver. Cheers

A wheel repair company such as the wheel specialist would be a cheaper option!

I had this problem with my previous car.
I then put alloygators on my wheels.

Damage was no longer visible and the rim was protected for the next time, if I encountered a curb.

Some SMART repair companies repair alloy wheels. They might be able to do it at your home or place of work.

Other SMART repair companies are available!

Use a permenant marker pen for now and colour the scuff. It will do as a temp repair until you decide what to do. I had a scuff on one of my Vitara S wheels and did this and now you can't see the scuff u less you look really closely.

That looks OK if it's mint condition it's a bargain.

Probably cheaper than a refurb and you end up with a full size spare?

Will a full size alloy fit in the spare wheel space OK? I have the spacesaver wheel and kit (jack, polystyrene holder) which I could sell, I will need the jack still but what fits in that space? Has anyone got a full size in the space?

Cheers all for info, Karl the seller has told me 5he wheel is mint so I've bought it! Thanks for the link. I The seller told me he had new alloys and when the tyres were exchanged by the technician he damaged the rims on 2 wheels because he didn't use the wheel protection tool correctly! He sold the damaged ones on eBay and the remaining undamaged one is the one I've bought. I will put it on the car and put the scuffed one in for a spare. I will sell my spacesaver, do you or anyone else know how a full size wheel is secured in the boot? Thanks again all for help and advice. Good stuff.

As a "punctured" rim would have to be stored in the wheel well i am guessing the full size rim would lie face down with the tool tray inside. Looking at the length of the retaining bolt i would imagine it will fit as it does on the steel?
Glad the link on ebay was of use

Try this link, it is for a steel but may be of use.....

lvadmaker wrote:Just added a full size spare to our new Boosterjet, got the rim from Oponeo (thanks Bill l).
got the 16 X 6.5 et 50 (comes marked as suzuki on a label inside the rim, forgot to take a piccy) price delivered was £37, decided to get a continental eco 5 in 215/60 r16 V to get as close as possible to the same rolling radius and grip levels as the fitted 17 inch ones. Kwik fit have an online offer at the mo at £94.50, but I went to my local independent and paid £101.05.
It fits perfectly in the tyre well with the lower floor panel removed and you can even get it in place and still store a few thin items which still allows the upper floor to sit down properly. I have ordered a tyre cover from ebay to make it look a bit tidier and will probably make a copy of the lower boot panel but with a "tyre" sized hole in it to regain some storage down the sides of the tyre, I have attached a picture with the rim and rim tyre in the well for reference.Alloy wheel scuff 20160611

I have just remembered as well as the spacesaver i have a Vitara JB 16" steel with a 215/60R16 that fits fine in the well but as Rattly said you lose the lower boot carpet as it sits taller than the spacesaver

Another quick question if I may? When I get my alloy wheel I'm going to put a tyre on it obviously, then the scuffed one will be removed and repaired then used as spare. Question is : can I buy a tpms valve to put on the wheel and leave the old wheel tpms alone and let it sit in the wheel well? All 5 wheels will then be usable because they'll all have their own tpms valve? I'm not up to date with this technology at all, I assume each valve has a small battery and transmitter that links to the particular position it's fitted on?

What is the name of the wheel model? It's not misti and I don't think it's mojave.? What tyres are the factory fitted ones.? I could go outside and take a look but I'm being idle

Being oe fittted the alloy only has a part number rather than a name you find on accessory wheels
The tyre is a 215/55R17 Continental ecocontact 5
