Great Video showing how to install several interior and exterior accessories, the instructions are usually great on Suzuki accessories but a visual is always a bonus thumbl

ACCESSORIES INSTALL VIDEO Empty Re: ACCESSORIES INSTALL VIDEO

Post by theforestdweller on Sun Sep 20, 2015 9:04 pm

I've ordered a centre console (along with flexible mud flaps) as part of my purchase. Even before watching the video I had concerns regarding the "dealer fit" aspect of the centre console. I just don't see them taking the time and care to follow the instructions without resorting to heavy handedness to "persuade" parts into place Shocked.

I think I'll ask them to leave it to me to fit - my time doesn't cost me anything and since it's my vehicle I'm going to be  v e r y  careful.

Now, can I trust them with mud flaps - I really don't want to be struggling out in the open on a wet, cold and windy October day. Mmmmmmm pale .

Although they look good i fitted rigid mud flaps to my GV but i often catch them off road so the Vitara will get flexible ones
The flexi mudflaps are usually multi fit and are marked with several drill points that the relevent instructions show, it is then a case of fixing them to the vehicle usually by removing trim clips and replacing them with captured nuts, sometimes there is a hole to drill or enlarge but i use a step/cone drill and a ratchet/socket rather than a bulky drill

I am very tempted by the centre arm rest - would agree that its something better to fit yourself given the right time, care and attention. Although that said, the dealership have done a decent job fitting the tweeters from the SZ5 into my SZT which unfortunately was apparently far from plug and play and the rear parking sensors are in the right places Laughing

I fitted the bumper protector myself on the basis that the attempts I had seen previously had it placed nowhere near where it should be fitted.

Mud flaps - hmm - not 100% sure I would trust them unless they are just bolt on.

The armrest is on my wish list, perhaps we should start a topic "My Ideal Accessorised Vitara?"

lol - now that would be an entertaining dealer fit option - would probably cost the same as the car :-)

Slightly off topic but the only thing missing from this late 1960's Suzuki Fronte SS accessories is an engine transplant....

Great find and helped me fit new clock and armrest with very little effort Smile

He also shows that the steering wheel trim has been changed but doesn't show the procedure? Has anyone carried this out yet and is it easy to do?

I think the steering wheel trim may involve removing the airbag hence the non instructional part, I have removed airbags in the past and as long as you follow the manufacturers instructions it is a fairly straightforward procedure

Some how (cough) I have managed to get a Suzuki GB Vitara accessories flyer that gives the cost/retail and fitting prices for all accessories and Suzuki only quote £18.07 for the trim 0.20minutes fitting £13.20 Labour totalling £31.27 to fit the steering whell trim so may not be worth doing it yourself?

Karl,

Many thanks for the advice - don't fancy disturbing the airbag to be honest, especially with no specific procedure available to us.

Cheers,

ACCESSORIES INSTALL VIDEO Empty CHROME LOWER SIDE WINDOW TRIM.

Post by Twosheds on Mon May 29, 2017 9:22 pm

Hi All. Anyone know where to obtain the chrome lower side window trim shown in the German video. I have been on the site portrayed at the start of the video, but even with Google translation I cannot find any reference to it. It seems good quality and made to fit,........thanks in anticipation

Thanks Karl. I was already aware of aliexpress.com but I don't think the items shown are from them, (the trim on the rear 'quarter glass' especially). I have rung The Suzuki Shop, (Levoise), and they cannot help. Will keep looking unless anyone out there has the answer,...Regards, Kevin.

Sorry I was searching via my phone rather than laptop and didn't realise how subtle the Autofuerst ones were compared to the Aliexpress, here you go....

Another great instruction video. I see the mirror/window module is £36.50 delivered from Aliexpress. Anyone fitted one yet ? looks very tempting.
