One of the reasons I bought a vitara is for my two dogs. I replaced the boot shelf with 18mm chipboard and have the back seats folded flat (well almost flat) all the time. Plenty of room for them.

As mentioned Yokohama tyres are also my choice, G012 on my SZ5 with optional 16" rims and we will fit yokohama w drive to the 17" rims on my fathers Turbo vitara

Having replaced my tyres from first week of ownership i had forgot the continentals are the only complaint i have about the vitara, very noisy and no m+s/snowflake markings that you would expect on a cross over/ 4wd

For dog guards try this.....
