kwikphix328, thanks for the suggestion. I have purchased some Rain-X and will see if it helps.

Having salt in the road at the moment really isn't helping with the smearing so hopefully the Rain-X will go someway to making it less annoying!

Rain X is great for every piece of glass...except the windscreen. Yes, with the wipers off the raindrops will just stream away, once you're above about 45 MPH. Otherwise, it's like having net curtains fitted once you use the wipers. I bought a bottle of the concentrate in Halfords last week and it was terrible. Mad

When it comes to car cleaning, my Achilles Heel is (are?) the windows. The one thing I find that makes me look good is Autoglym Glass Polish. Once I've cleaned all the glass I give each wiper blade rubber a once over with the cloth I used to apply the polish. I find it also repels rain and snow from the windscreen at lower speeds than Rain-X.

Your above detail reminds me of some PIAA Silicone wipers I fitted a while back where they supplied a silicone screen wipe and recommended to run the wipers dry on the screen once applied....

Just a quick heads up on the Denso wiper blade numbers. The passenger blade is DU-040R which is 16". The one listed at the beginning of the thread, DU-035R is only 14" and is the wrong one.
I have just fitted these wipers yesterday and they look and perform exactly the same as the dealer ones.

If I put the reg number in for my vitara on eurocarparts and select wiper blades and then denso as the brand it comes up saying 24 inch drivers wiper and 16 inch passenger wiper.

I can only apologise for the typo in the first post (now rectified)
I can only think I copied it from the Denso or some other webpage as checking my wipers in the garage I have the correct part numbers in stock? confused

Nice one, all sorted now. The two blades Karl has picture of are the correct ones, the drivers is 24", and passengers 16". The ones eurocarparts have listed for the Denso are the wrong ones. I know because I went to their shop to buy them, but they are a different number.

WIPER BLADES - Page 2 Empty Vipa Wipers

I brought Vipa Wipers from Amazon, won't get again. Exact look of the originals, had two weeks and they are squeaking like hell.

It's hard to confirm this on the video, but it looks like the NS wiper is not sitting correctly on the screen.
On its up sweep the rubber is in front of the holder - it should be the other way round (trailing).
If the arm has not been bent, at the end of a journey with the wipers at rest, try 'turning' the rubber downward - toward the bottom of the screen to 'reset' the rubber position.
Sometimes a load of washer fluid also helps to flip the rubber as it should operate.

I think they are good now.

I unclipped the wiper adaptor brackets turned them round 180 degrees, re-attached and now they seem to be working fine. The blades look symmetrical to me, so not sure how that would make a difference. Maybe the brackets were not all the way home. Whatever it was I'm happy now. That squeak was insane! Very Happy

Lets see how well they last now, They had plenty of work the last few days!

Also they are good value £11.99 the set from amazon, They are identical to the Suzuki original blades.

Thanks JDVitara for the advice

Maybe Sompting stupid....

Are there LHD and RHD wippers (or do you need to turn the brackets) ... On my Left hand drive Vitara the wippers go in opposite direction.

Please don't laugh at me 🤔🤣

Great news bazahazano, keep us updated.

Good point LourensL, when there's a possibility of a scratched windscreen it's no laughing matter.

I found something in the brochure of Denso wipers.
There are indeed some wipers thad are special made for LHD and/or RHD.

The original wipers are formed as/with a spoiler. They won't work as supposed to upside down. That's also why both LHD- and RHD-versions are needed.

I thought i kept quite a good look out regarding stuff like condition of wiper blades etc. I replaced the 2 x front earlier on this year and they are still good ( Suzi OEM ) .
I looked at my rear wiper the other day and the rubber had split from both ends by about 3-4 inches.
Had to go the Halfords and get a Bosch replacement immediately. The Bosch item fitted perfectly and actually looks really really similar to the OEM,
Who looks out the rear window anyway... Wink
