I normally use Bosch Wiper blades as I have a Halfords trade card and get them cheaper, theyhave also always been good blades.

Has anybody tried the Bosch ( or other brand) on their Vitara yet ?

I put some Bosch on earlier this year and they were OK for a few weeks. After that they started leaving lines. I recently replaced them with another set of Bosch and once again they are fine, so far!

I bought mine from the Suzuki Dealer. Yes quite pricey, but they and the originals are A1.

My passenger side blade started leaving a streak and I replaced it with a Bosch one but it seemed to be a bit smaller on its fitting to the wiper arm and made a noise in operation so I went back to an original. Bit pricey but no noise and fits well.

WIPER BLADES Empty OEM Wiper Blades

Post by Algripsteve on Fri Nov 24, 2017 11:26 am

OEM wiper blades are of a bad design, plastic housing, my drivers side one exploded on M1 the other day!!
Luckly RAC man had some Blue tak type stuff that goes rock hard to fix it.  Replaced now with metal ones from Lucus, car is a 66 plate Vitara S 1.4, with 17,0000miles.

I have driven new vitaras from the summer heat in the South of France to the freezing cold of Iceland and never had an oe wiper blade explode or crack so feel your experience is a one off or caused by possibly previous damage or an impact of a foreign object causing it to "explode"
Im sure if this is a common problem Gargreen will post and let us know

The oe blades are made by Denso and i have upgraded the GV, Jimny and Carry with the same Denso Hybrid blades

Suzuki will allow wiper blade claims with the first 12 months of registration. The OE are best fitting, suzuki also supply a wiper blade care kit to prolong their life span as some say they’re pricey.

This depends on you having access to a dealer that has a clue. I asked for my wipers to be looked at as part of the first year service and they all denied any knowledge that Suzuki would entertain anything to do with wiper blades.

Drivers side Bosch are already leaving smears. Only been on a since Oct so I don’t think I will be getting them again. I have a halfords trade cad so will try another make from there range.

Sorry, Nicky, just saw your question. The drivers side is AR24U. That’s 2 setsthat have not lasted very long at all.

Both OEM wipers are now leaving lines and smearing. However 18 months old and 13,000 miles on the clock now so to be expected for an exposed consumable item.
Nearly £50 quid is a bit steep though.
Fitted Bosch to the missus Fiat 500 and have to say they struggle when cold <5deg but ok when warmer.

What does the wiper care kit consist of ?

Is there any aftermarket ones we can use for the rear? Mines starting to go and I'd rather not have to use my local dealer as they are truly awful.

Using the OEM part number Amazon shows these but not sure if they'd fit.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Bosch-H250-Specific-Wiper-Blade/dp/B00FZWNUM8/ref=sr_1_fkmr0_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1545402213&sr=8-1-fkmr0&keywords=REAR+++++++++++++++38340-63J00

From the reviews it fits the Swift and Swift Sport so hopefully also fits the Vitara S.

Sorry, missed this post. The kit contains a cleaning solution, some sort of corse sponge and a lint free cloth.

And a side note. Suzuki have now dramatically dropped the prices of the OE blades to a more respectable £25 if memory serves

£41.39 inc for the 2 front wipers.
Have to say they operate perfectly and silently regardless of speed and temp so money well spent.
Nice having a clear windscreen again whilst driving.

I used Autoglym Fast Glass on the inside and Rainex deep cleaning clay kit/ glass cleaner spray on the outside.

On the subject of wiper blades.....

I regularly get a smudge on the windscreen where the left wiper's sweep stops in front of the driver and the right wiper's downward sweep then crosses it (if that makes sense!). It's in my view which makes it very annoying. Sad  Am I the only one to get this or is it a common issue. I have changed the wiper blades, buying the Denso replacements and it made no difference.

Any suggestions Question

I have to say I have never thought of cleaning the blades Embarassed

Wont buy this but will try something from the cleaning cupboard just to see if it makes a difference. Failing that, new blades then keep them clean

x2 and yes very annoying. One of the blades leaves the smudge right in the drivers line of sight.

Periodically manually cleaning the glass and giving the blades a careful wipe with your preferred glass cleaner is the only solution to this i have found . I use a combination of Autoglym Fast Glass and Rainex glass cleaners for this, whichever comes to hand first.

also both annoying and pleasing ( if that makes sense..) that that Suzuki have dropped the price of the OEM blades. I paid £42 for a pair just after Christmas 2018... they are good though...

I cringe on frosty mornings if they sweep over jaggy ice whilst i am clearing the windscreen with the engine running first thing and they are set to auto... .
