With my dad selling his Grand Vitara SZ4 2.4 3 door last week we have been looking at a replacement and the SZ-T Vitara AllGrip Petrol was just about right

Now I am a fan of both the Vitara and the S-cross (especially facelift) and having seen both in the flesh my dad was keen on either but what was surprising was the spec of the SZ-T S-Cross compared to the SZ-T Vitara

On top of the regular spec the S-Cross had in addition...

Parking Sensors Front & Rear
LED Headlights
Auto Wipers
Auto Headlights
Auto Dim Rear Mirror
Skid Plate Side & Rear
Indicators in Mirrors (Vitara in wings)
Electric Folding Mirrors
Dual Zone Aircon
Keyless Entry
Push Button Start
Arm Rest
Adjustable Rear Seats
2 x Tweeters

The Vitara is £18549 SZ-T AllGrip and the S-Cross SZ-T AllGrip £20299 but with dealers offering £1000-£1500 off the S-Cross the spec you are getting above on an S-Cross is nearer a Vitara SZ-5/Turbo

I think someone at Suzuki GB needs to look at the spec sheets a bit more when ticking the order sheet, and why like the rest of Europe don't we get heated seats on the Vitara, they are standard on the S-Cross SZ5?

Anyway after all that dad purchased a Vitara S in Superior White hopefully delivered on week 9 unless they can find a dealer willing to transfer one from stock

Be interesting to compare with my SZ-5 AllGrip

I had an SZ5 SCross, in fact I've had two, liked the kit except, the Sun roof took too much headroom out, didn't like the leather, it looked cheap and the the heated seats made them sweat, they were hot in summer and cold in winter!

Liked keyless entry, and the Garmin nav was much better than the rubbish Bosch unit in the vitara.

Went for an SZT vitara as I didn't want the sun roof and linked the look of the Viatara it reminded me of the Grand Vitara I had on 12 plate!

I think he's made the right choice, and I also think that as soon as you have a drive of his, you'll want out of your 1.6 to get into one of those. I'll put my house on it.

Of the above additions, I think the only things the SZ-5 DOESN'T have are

Skid Plate Side
Arm Rest
Adjustable Rear Seats
Auto Dim Rear Mirror
Heated Front Seats

Hi Crozier, in the end my dad ordered a Vitara Turbo hence the "Be interesting to compare with my SZ-5 AllGrip" thumbl

The S is just insanely good fun to drive. That being said I've never driven a 1.6
