My first chance to take some photos of it in daylight yesterday afternoon after I'd given it a good wash to remove two weeks of dirt.
Thought I'd share them with you.
(2wd, so only two wheels are off road   Laughing  )

Thanks, just a few snaps taken with my phone.
Not sure about any plans yet.
Have fitted LED sidelights and interior lights.
Silver Osram indicator bulbs ordered, hopefully here tomorrow.
Arm rest would be nice.
I am also contemplating the rugged DLR surrounds.
Mudflaps maybe.
Also have my eye on the red/black gear lever gaiter, sill protectors and bumper protector.
And a set of roofbars.

Edit: oh yeah an SZ5 badge

I have a SZ T with the same colour scheme and also 2wd. I had an armrest fitted on delivery and after a week added a set of mud flaps which are a worthwhile addition particularly at this time of year when the roads are filthy. Great pictures.

Looking good, as I have said before normally I am not a fan of red cars in general but the Vitara does look great even more so with the black roof thumbl

Agree with Alrewas mud flaps are a great addition as are the Black door protectors, unfortunately people parking next to you rarely respect others vehicles and all too often leave a door ding in your pride and joy Sad

Look forward to your future upgrade pictures

Make such a difference dont they. Just a heads up, I used to have those same LED sidelights. They didn't last too long and strobed like it was 1999 all over again.

Agree the Chrome bulbs do look good and should really be standard fitment

Gar did you have both LED's go strobe?

I had one not work from the word go but got them in 2 x Grand Vitara's, 4 x Jimny's, 1 x Vitara, 1 x Carry and a Sedici/SX4 sidelights (plus numerous interior lighting) and never had one go bad............I know the Vitara alone has 10,000 miles of mainly night driving confused

My Red/Black 2wd petrol SZ5 Empty 2500 miles later

Post by alec on Fri Apr 28, 2017 12:44 pm

So I picked up the Vitara in mid Jan 2017.
Secondhand with very low mileage, originally registered in October 2015 it only had something like 870 miles on the clock. It has now covered 3300.
Right colour, right spec, about six months earlier than planned but too good a bargain to miss. Apparently it was an ex-motorbility vehicle.

I have a fairly short commute but tend to cover a fair few miles at weekends.

This is what I think so far...
Bear in mind that I am moving to this from a not quite base level spec 57 reg 1.4vti Peugeot 207SW

Likes
Styling (obviously)
Driving position and comfort
Big door mirrors
Big rear view mirror
Reversing camera / parking sensors
Adaptive cruise control, great on long motorway journeys.
DAB radio
Bluetooth
Aircon
Double sun roof
Auto lights / wipers
Fuel economy - seem to be averaging 40+ mpg
Luggage space and false floor to hide crap under

Dislikes Could be better
Sunvisors too narrow, a big gap either side of rear view mirror
Dash too shiny and reflects badly on windscreen especially if driving into the sun when it is high.
Auto lights are too sensitive, activated by overhanging trees etc.
Lack of armrest
i-pod connectivity, having real trouble with this, randomly skips tracks, plays one track then pauses, starts halfway through a track. Hoping next upgrade to infortainment system may cure this, think it worse since 850 to 870 upgrade
Lack of support for Android Auto (see above)

I like all the grilles i like all the grilles (or did Calvin Harris sing Girls?)

The issue with buying a grille os then the extra for matching side vents. Will post a pic later in the for sale section
