Jack supplied or not? Empty Jack supplied or not?

Post by crozier on Wed Jan 04, 2017 11:53 pm

I notice on other threads about fitting a spare wheel, that the Vitara should come with a jack. My 2016 model didn't. Should I go back to the Dealer and ask for one?

No Vitara was supplied as standard in the UK with a spare wheel yet early models were supplied with a Jack and Wheel Brace
After a while the Jack etc was no longer supplied but a few people did get them supplied FOC by the supplying dealer out of goodwill but I think that may have stopped

If you search ebay for Suzuki SX4 or Fiat Sedici you can usually get the tool kit including wheel brace and jack etc for around £30 (I think the Jack alone was £55 new from Suzuki?)

That's bang on with the kit that Karl has posted, it'll do the job just fine.

Great... I didn't order that one, but this. Being sent today, hopefully! Now just need the toolholder and retaining nut, but not holding my breath at the moment!

Foam tool holders are like rocking horse stuff, got mine here... https://www.suzuki-shop.co.uk/VitaraScross-Jack-Tool-Holder-for-Spare-Wheel

The SX4 spare wheel plastic retaining 'nut' did not work in my Vitara S, so made my own holding plate out of 6 x 25 x 100 mm Alum flat bar, drilled a 8.5 mm hole in center, fitted a 8 x 40 mm bolt thru it with a couple of locknuts.
Works a treat & prevents spare wheel from moving around, although, thinking further about it, maybe a piece of car carpet in the wheel well may help. Need to research for that!
