Coming across more & more reports of problems & failure of the DPF ...OK probably too early to tell with the new model, but anyone yet with an oil burner had any such issues, or are you all high mileage motorway cruisers ?

I had the dpf warning light on at a little over 2k. Read the manual and did what was required (over 31mph over 2k revs for 20-25mins) went off in the space of 15klm. Hasn't came back on yet. Hasn't really put me off. Had a Citreon c4 Picasso before that forever thru up the warning, a good thrashing later it was fine and was perfect when I traded it in with 160k on the clock

Since the early 2007 era, DPF's have come along way. Vehicles now have built in DPF regeneration processes that can be preformed at idle speeds not just at high revs "on runs".
Alas, this does not compensate for slow stop start and short trips.

all being said, you may be correct in saying it's too early to have a definitive answer.

I went through the pain and misery of DPF problems with a Peugeot 407 2.0 Diesel SW. Had it for 7 years.

Never, ever again... No No

I have said this before but I seriously think that the writing is on the wall for diesel cars what with the recent press about pollution and the VW (and others) rigging scandals.

In the six months since the software upgrade no sign of the dreaded DPF light, (twice on in first 2500 miles) now on 7500, or have I spoken too soon !!

My annual mileage has decreased from 18k per year up until 2016 to now around 2k per year.
This has resulted in me having to regenerate my DPF on a monthly basis. I take the car on a 10 mile stretch of the A48/M4 in third gear at about 3500 r.p.m. and this clears it.

However, what is the opinion of members to using premium diesel instead of the standard brands; would this reduce the frequency of regeneration ?
