Subject:
Exhaust Gas Temperature Sensor and Exhaust Gas leakage between the
Turbocharger and CCDPF Service Campaign

Campaign No: S15/08 and S15/09
Initiated for
the Vitara (APK416D) 2WD and 4WD models.

The Defects
S15/08: It has been identified that there is a possibility that during production the exhaust gas temperature sensor (No.2) was installed in an incorrect position. The welded boss for the gas temperature sensor may be at an incorrect angle which can cause the sensor cable to touch other parts of the engine and be damaged.

S15/09:
It has also been identified that during installation of the CCDPF it may not be aligned correctly to the turbocharger and an exhaust gas leak could occur. This means the vehicle does not meet its emission limits for Euro 6.
The failure rates are 0.3% for the S15/08 incorrect fitment of the sensor and 2% on the

S15/09 Exhaust gas leaking.

Number of affected vehicles:
182

Affected Vehicles Vitara (APK416D) 2WD & 4WD

2015> VITARA SUZUKI RECALLS Empty Re: 2015> VITARA SUZUKI RECALLS

Change in programmable software of the RBS Control Module

1. APPLICABLE MODEL
VITARA (APK414/416/416D)

2. CONDITION & CAUSE
The parameters for judging the vehicle’s driving lane by programmable software in the RBS control module may be too sensitive. If the driving lane is changed quickly or quick steering operation is applied e.g. on a winding road, then DTC C1654 (Yaw Rate Sensor Circuit Failure) may be detected and the RBS indicator light & Adaptive cruise control warning light will be turned on. Also the Master warning indicator light will be on (flashing.) The RADAR BRAKE SUPPORT FCN (function) TEMPORARILY DISABLED will also appear on the display and function of the RBS and ACC disabled for a while.
After the RBS control module function was disabled as above, if the vehicle is continuously driven for 30 minutes or vehicle stopped and IGN turned OFF and ON, the RBS & Adaptive cruise control will be re-activated and the warning lights & display will be turned off. However a historic DTC code C1654 will remain in the controller.

3. CORRECTION
Parameter for judging vehicle’s driving lane by the programmable software of RBS control module has been optimized.

Your dealer will be able to update your Vitara without the change of any parts.

Subject: Calibration Data Set ECM/TCM Reprogram

Campaign No: S16/08

This operation is voluntary and is not a recall campaign.

1. APPLICABLE MODEL
VITARA (APK416D)

For certain Vitara and S-Cross DDiS Euro 6 models it has been decided to upgrade Euro 6 calibration with a new data set to improve emission performance in real driving conditions.

Suzuki is reacting to this change and is adopting a proactive approach, by updating calibrations in the
matter of emissions, to ensure a prompter adaptation to The Real Driving Emission (RDE) Standard
which is currently being drafted and is expected to come into force in 2017.
For this reason, Suzuki has decided to upgrade Euro 6 calibration with a new data set to improve emission performance in real driving conditions.

2. CORRECTION
Re-Programme ECM

2015> VITARA SUZUKI RECALLS Empty Re: 2015> VITARA SUZUKI RECALLS

Post by Admin on Fri Oct 26, 2018 10:18 pm

Issue No: BE-Q-G-057
Issue Date: October 2017

Subject:   Change of Rear Brake pad

Applicable Model:  S-Cross  (AKK310/414/416/416D)
 Vitara    (APK414/416/416D)

This bulletin is to inform you of modified rear brake pad for a specific noise.

CONDITION AND CAUSE
After the vehicle has been left parked for several hours at low temperature and a high humidity
condition, when starting (pulling away) from stand still or during light braking a groaning noise from
the rear brake can occur.
Note, the groan noise is different from a squeal - low frequency noise between 500-600 Hz.
If the rear brake pad contacts the brake disc at low temperature and a high humidity condition, as the
friction of brake pad becomes unstable, it could cause rear suspension resonance phenomena
originated from rear brake vibration.

CORRECTION
Change pad friction material to improve anti-noise performance by better friction stability at low
temperature and high humidity condition.

COUNTERMEASURE FOR PRODUCTION
Effective VIN and date:
TSMJYAA2S00557341~ July 31, 2017
TSMLYE21S00401115~ July 31, 2017.

FIELD CORRECTION
If you have a customer complaint of the problem mentioned above, please replace the brake pad set
to the countermeasure part according to Service Manual.
