Load liner Empty Load liner

Post by RichK on Tue Mar 22, 2016 3:58 pm

Having a look around for a rear load liner. I have one on my GV from eBay which has been great, ones i'm finding are advertised as upper tray liner (G) or lower tray liner (B) . Bit baffled, I know it has a false floor but there isn't two floors are there or am I missing something ? confused

There are 2 floors and they are different sizes. The upper floor is smaller - think about the rear seats which lean back so the higher up you go the smaller the distance between the seat and the rear door. In addition the upper floor can be removed completely as it is not permanently attached to anything, it sits in plastic lugs on the front edge and rests on the doorframe at the rear. There are also removable side panels for the lower floor so that it's shape is different.

Ta, just want a load cover for everyday use so assume I need the top one. Think I will wait until I get the car as I do a few tip runs etc and have an old classic boat so often loaded with tools, materials and kit etc. Floor under my GV liner looks as good as the day the car was made so they do a good job.

Are they genuine liners you are looking at?

The two oe liners are...

14. Cargo tray
Lightweight, ‘soft-touch’, non-slip
material, in black with slightly raised
edges, embossed detail
£34.16
Part No. 990E0-54P15-000

or

15. Cargo tray with raised edges
Heavy duty, black, waterproof, rigid
load area liner, with raised sides
£187.00
Part No. 990E0-54P80-000

The first Load Liner/Cargo Tray you can read about here...

The second Liner is a more protective option as it has raised edges that protects the rear interior panels rather than just the floor area...

I have just noticed you are in Worcestershire, what dealers are you using?

My GV one was not a Suzuki item, just a cheapo ebay one, cost about £25 at the time I think, but was sound enough to take over six years of abuse, similar to the first/top liner. Don't think I could justify the £187 one though even though it does give more space. Looks like the bottom one would have to come out to put the top floor back in.

Edit, after looking at the link for the top liner i'm not too sure of that one at all. I don't think soft foam would hold up that well with tool boxes and gear being dragged in and out. Think I will stick with one like I have now which is more a flexible plastic and a higher side edge. Similar to below link.

That liner you have found on ebay looks far better quality than the Genuine Suzuki soft touch liner and cheaper too
Unlike many ebay liners this one is bespoke to the Vitara and even fits with the false floor removed,

I have added all the details here...

nice find thumbl

Smile Roofbox.co.uk sell a bootliner made by Rezaw-Plast part no is RZ231621 and is a perfect fit and much better than the Suzuki bit! Cost incl postage was £40 but the quality is great. Been in our SZ-T for a month now and has made 2 dump runs!
