Post by JOHNWALES on Fri Sep 27, 2019 12:52 pm

During a life time that exceeds 75 years now;  during which time I have owned more than 60 cars;   YES SIXTY,  I have to say that my Suzuki Vitara which is has been in my possession for nearly four years;  is by far the best car I have ever owned.  Long may she reign !!!!

I love my Vitara very much....

But to say that it is the best car I owned, sorry that's a no.
It is the car that I have the longest in my possession. I used to drive a car for maximum 2 years and then I buy a new one.
The Vitara is now for 2.5 years in my possession , And I'm not thinking of buying a new one  Laughing

Its cheap to buy and run and does exactly what I wanted it to do but best car I've owned no way.
That would probably be Jeep grand Cherokee or BMW 525.

The Vitara has some good and some not so good points, but its not the best car I've ever owned, and there have been a quite a few over the years!

It depends what you want from a car I suppose, and how it makes you feel driving it, but my all time fav was a 2005 Toyota Rav 4. That car did everything and never bleeped at me or let me down ever.

Yes A4 was back in 80's, air conditioning that was louder than the engine, and no power steering made life very hard going.

The V8 of my RS4 certainly was louder than the air conditioning. And the 4WD, 420hp and power steering made it a joy to drive. I never had a better steering and driving car than de bi-turbo powered RS4.

And now I love my 1.6 120hp Vitara.... I'm Older and wiser Cool

THE BEST CAR Empty Toyota Rav 3 door

[i] had a 2004 3 door Toyota Rav (Turquoise ) diesel. This was at the top end of my favourite cars, economical and attractive in looks.. At the same time I had a diesel Renault Scenic RX4 also 4 w.d. I was embarking on a lengthy overseas trip to Austria and Switzerland and my wife and I had to make a decision as to which car we would use. The RX4 was infinitely more comfortable, like all French cars and won the choice. All went well on the trip but it soon became obvious the Rav had the better engine. In fact when the RX4 was a year old one day the engine lost nearly all its power and started to eject oil all over the place. The car was lifted to my Renault dealer and repaired, it took about a week and was done under warranty. I forget what the problem was, but was disappointed that such a major issue developed at 18,000 miles.

THE BEST CAR Empty Re: THE BEST CAR

Well it all depends on what you mean by best car, personally i think my Vitara is the best daily driver i have owned. It is also my first brand new car, economic to run and very comfortable.
My best car for spirited driving was probably the swift sport that i had before the vitara, my best car for dragracing was deffinately my Camaro from the 70s i sold about 5 years ago.

Having owned many cars through the 21 years that has passed since i bought my first one
i can say that the vitara is not the most exciting one by far, but it is the best for the life i live today and where i choose to live it.

Still enjoying my Vitara S after over 2 years of ownership.
However, my 'go to' car at the moment is a little Mazda MX-5 that i bought on a whim last February. 158 bhp, 2 Litre Engine, Electric folding Hard top, 12 years old, 93,000 on the clock. Full Mazda Service History and everything works as it should. .
I had it inspected and serviced by a local independent garage that specialises in MX-5's. Also had a set of new tyres, new MOT and 4 corner wheel alignment done.
Very good fun driving to and from work now, plus regular drives out just to waste petrol. The Vitara feels like driving a Boat after a few weeks in the MX-5.
a nice boat though Wink
