smelly clutch Empty smelly clutch

I didnt force it much but the clutch was smelling burned for 10 minutes.. it happend 3 times in lock mode..i am a little bit scared even though i ve heard it before for the NEW vitara twice..i wonder if i should go to the Suzuki garage.. Sad

I would certainly get the Garage to check it out, i read somewhere that if anything overheated in lock mode it disengaged?

It sounds like you have cooked the clutch, the friction material on most clutch plates will begin to smell if they overheat, most times this will not cause any problems but repeat overheating will cause damage

I had the same during some sessions of sporty driving. I guess the stress on the clutch is also much bigger on 4WD cars.
For 2WD cars under high torque the wheels will spin but for 4WD this won't happen so usually the weakest link gives in, which is the clutch.

it will be funny if i have to replace the clutch after only 5000 km..! just aquestion.. shouldnt be a diffrent clutch for all grip and 2wd?? may i say i am a tango teacher and not familiar with car teck.. but i am trying to learn after 18 years of driving..
