Hi Karl. My impressions so far.
I like the new front and back design, the front with more chrome and all black grill. The back with the bigger led lights and the lower fascia with the reversing light down lower, makes it much clear when reversing at night, for some reason the red tail lights don’t interfere with the image on the screen.
It has a better safety pack than the other one.
It feels a bit quieter, less drumming.
The throttle response seems better not as sensitive particularly at take off.
The arm rest is now standard which is good because I had one fitted in the other car, but it was never right.
The seats feel different a little bit more comfortable.
In Australia we get a choice of 3 models, Vitara 1.6Lt, Vitara turbo 2WD which is the one I got and Vitara turbo AllGrip.
All up very happy with both Suzuki Vitara’s and Suzuki in general.

That's interesting Australia still has the 1.6 M16A engine as in the UK and I believe Europe we only have the 1.0 and 1.4 Turbo K10/14 engines in both 2wd and Allgrip

Is the armrest attached to the side of the seat near the tunnel or do you mean a centre arm rest attached to the tunnel cover?

Not sure what you mean, but the armrest in the 2016 Vitara was a genuine Suzuki accessory with the sliding lift up top, it was fitted by the dealers. The new car has the same one.

Karl
Don't know why Suzuki Australia chose the 1.6LT must have something to do with what they think will sell here !!
Personally I would have loved to have tested the 1LT. My be in the future will get the 1LT hybrid.

I understand now, I thought you meant the seats had arm rests attached to the seat bolster like in Range Rovers etc.
