A question to other owners with power folding mirrors. Do you think Suzuki should of made the mirrors fold automatically when the car is locked.
I fold mine with the button before I turn off ignition and get out of car, but I think it is dangerous as you then cant see what's coming from behind before you open the door unless you turn round and have a good look.
I have seen aftermarket kits to make mirrors close on locking, but the plug and play modules I have seen state that they are for left hand drive models only.

It would have been nice, along with auto locking doors once you were in motion

I have the modules on both my Vitara and my father's for folding mirrors when you press the remote or rubber door lock and they work fine

Good question Ndrummond. I tend to fold them at the last possible moment before leaving car. But as you say a better system would be for them to fold automatically upon locking doors. Of course on icy mornings you could encounter problems on unlocking.

The unit was 90% plug and play with only 2 other trigger wires having to be spliced into the main harness. Just trying to find a link to the seller as it was from Japan and 24months ago

Gar Green wrote:For todays added extra, Power fold mirrors on lock and start up. Firstly, a huge thank you once again to Karl for all his help.

On lock, With the key fob or any of the door buttons, the mirrors will fold.
On start up, the mirrors will open so no need for pushing that button anymore.

This is the (almost) plug and play loom that makes the magic happen

It's pretty easy to fit yourself, but a multimeter would be a very handy tool to have as I found out.
I'm sure over the coming weeks, Karl will put up a how to if he is able to get hold of more (I wouldn't hold your breath).

HERES A LINK TO SHOW IT WORKING

Karl, I have received a loom from china today that looks just like the one in your post. There are 2 feed wires that need splicing, one permanent 12v, and the other a 12v lock signal wire. Can you remember where you took the constant 12v feed from ?. Also the instructions say to cut the two wires that have 12v feed when mirror opens and closes, at the original switch in the car. Do the mirrors on yours now work with only the key fob, or the black lock button on the door handle, and not with the original switch inside the car.

The mirror switch in the drivers door works exactly as it does from the factory, the only difference is the mirrors fold on lock and open when you press the ignition start button

Wire wise I used the following

White wire 12v supply to this white wire...

Power folding mirror's. 20170510

Orange door trigger to this pale green wire...

Power folding mirror's. 20180111

Hope this helps

Great Karl, thanks. One more question, did you have to cut any of the wires that go to the original mirror switch inside the car. The instructions that came with the loom are saying to cut 2 wires ?.Power folding mirror's. 20190722

Do you need to cut wires or simply use joining crimps?

The unit I received was supplied with some Japanese connectors which seemed to be an improved version of Scotch Locks

A possibly strange question but, when trying to order from Aliexpress. I just can't seem to input my telephone number correctly. They are asking for dashes or hyphens, Doh! Must be an age thing, although its probably saving me a fortune.

Thanks for the info about the wire taps Karl. I've fitted the module today and it works a treat, did not have to cut any wires, just splice the two you pointed out.

Thanks Guy's , although I tried it several times previously. It went straight through with +44. Probably facing financial ruin now , how many completely unnecessary bits can I buy. Graham
