LED Headlights Empty LED Headlights

Post by Ndrummond on Sat Mar 02, 2019 5:40 pm

I seem to have a problem with my offside led headlight on my Vitara S. When the lights are on, the offside one is vibrating and causing the beam to jump about. I have checked all is tight, and seems ok. Has anyone else had this problem ?.

They should have a beam adjuster on the rear axle. Check if that’s ok first. If not, get it in the dealer. The units are over £500 each

Had it into dealers today, and they have said that they can see the headlight flickering, and are going to put a new headlight in. Its £800 according to them, but it's getting done under warranty. Also going to look at brakes making grinding noise when braking to a stop at speeds from 20 mph. They know about the bulletin about the rear brake pads, but sounds like it's coming from front to me. See what they come up with.

From what they have said, it's a sealed unit, so you cannot just change the LED bulb. A lot of people with cars with LED headlights probably are not aware of this, so if your headlight bulb fails, your in for a hefty bill for a complete new headlight unit.

That’s bloody disgusting, 3rd or 4th owners will be getting a large bill in the future for a car worth around £1000, so the car will be scrapped cause of a bulb !

I wouldn't fancy paying if the both went out together. It's ridiculous that these units are not manufactured so you can just replace the LED.
