Good morning ladies and gents, hope your Sunday is better than mine! Today I discovered my rear passenger side tyre flat! Screw right in middle of tread, took it to tyre shop who had run out of puncture repair plugs so couldn't fix it, they put my spacesaver on for me and have kept my wheel to repair Monday or Tuesday, my question is apart from speed restrictions are there any other things I should be aware of whilst using this wheel? I have to drop my son to ferry later around 8 miles round trip and I will have to commute to work Monday and possibly Tuesday that's about the same distance, my vitara is boosterjet ALLGRIP model. Maybe a stupid question but that's me! Thank you
Peter.

Those distances should be no problem for the space saver. Just stick to the 50mph. Remember that the handling of the vehicle will feel different tho.

Check the spacesaver tyre pressure is okay, check handbook for correct psi - usually has a yellow sticker on the steel hub for max speed.

Good advice JD vitara just checked tyre pressure it was 30psi and, according to tyre wall, should be 60psi!

Well highlighted and something I check every 6 months as it can easily be forgotten and annoying to find sat at the side of the road

What size tyre did Suzuki supply? There are so many variations available on the internet yet the manual states a 135/90R16...

Hi guys.

Picking up my brand new Vitara SZ5 Allgrip Manual next month.

Need a spare spacesaver tyre and looking at deals on ebay. So just to confirm that for 17" wheels I'll still be ok with a 135/90/D16 spacesaver tyre?

Just about to push the button but just need confirmation!

Many thanks
Tony

Tony, my 2016 vitara is the 1.4 boosterjet ALLGRIP and has the factory fitted tyres and wheels, the spacesaver I have which was supplied by suzuki is the one you are going to buy, are your wheels and tyres the ones that came with the car?

17 or 16 inch wheels specify a 135/90R16 (or D16) spacesaver
Search Fiat Sedici on eBay for the correct wheel/tyre jack combination

Thanks Karl and mrgrimsby.
Think I've found what I need according to those figures
Is the spacesaver tyre pressure really 60psi?!

very unusual if they cant repair it they seem to think middle of tread is fine what they wont repair is the side wall punctures.had a puncture in my captur when only a week old repaired and and said no problem if its in tread.

Reason was because the screw went in at a angle and so the puncture hole is elongated?

Right ladies and gents, I bought 2 new tyres for rear axle continental contact premium 5 94v?probably paid too much for them but the old original good tyre is now fitted to a nice black alloy I bought off ebay cheaply. I now have a spacesaver for sale and a full size spare, question? How does wheel secure in boot? It is big!

It will fit quite happily in the wheel well once you remove the tray with all the bits. I have an original alloy with tyre, plus a jack I purchased separately. Then just put the bits from the tray back in and you're good to go. Only thing you might wan to think of for the spare is a tyre pressure monitor sensor.

Thanks Crozier, do you mean TPMS valve for pressure monitoring? I can live without one I think? The tyre is fitted and inflated now with standard valve which will be fine for emergency use I guess? How do you secure your wheel? The spacesaver 8mm screwdown is too short with big wheel.?
