E10 Petrol compatible Empty E10 Petrol compatible

Hi all,

I had a slight panic attack after reading this article: https://www.autoexpress.co.uk/car-news/104126/new-e10-petrol-plans-800000-cars-would-be-incompatible
The article was about DVLA holding a consultation into introducing E10 (Ethanol blended) Petrol in the UK, probably by 2020.

I reached out to Suzuki UK to enquire if (2015 onwards) Vitara 1.6l Petrol engines are compatible with E10 Petrol. I had a prompt response as follows:

Dear Mr ___,

Thank you for the recent Email to Suzuki GB. Your vehicle will be compatible for E10 petrol fuel. If you check your Owners Manual, page 12-4, there should be a section headed "Gasoline-Ethanol Blends". In this section it states: Blends of unleaded gasoline and ethanol (grain alcohol), also known as gasohol, may be used in your vehicle if the ethanol content is not greater than 10%.

I do hope this information has been useful to you. If you should require anything further in the future on 08085 011959, option 3.

Kind regards,

Marc

I guess I was a bit lazy by not checking the manual myself but I thought I will share this for the benefit of others (who are a tad lazy and likely to have a panic attack ) Laughing
