Faulty cigarette lighter Empty Faulty cigarette lighter

Post by Vitaraphil on Sat Aug 18, 2018 9:50 am

My car has just had its 3 year service done Thursday and noticed last night my cigarette lighter is not working when i plug my phone in to recharge.
Thought it might be my phone charger at fault so tried my wheel inflater unit in the boot, but that is not working too. So it is the ciggy lighter that is at fault.
Anybody had issues with their ciggy lighter?

Have you checked the fuse Phil?
There are 3 fuses designated for the accessory sockets 9 - 15 - 29 and they are 15a

My SZ5 was in the left hand passenger footwell below the A pillar, yet to check the S is in the same place

Karl,
I cannot find the fuse box in the front passenger footwell. What has also thrown me is the manual saying they are below the dash?

Just been outside and like my SZ5 the S is also on the phone lower A panel, to access it easier I removed the glove box.
Just realised you have a Diesel and I have no knowledge of they are different?

Pop the fabric panel down from under the glovebox, if memory serves its 2 clips. Pop the fuse cover off and your in.

If you open the bonnet, located the fuse box just behind the battery, you will find a fuse pulling tool in there which will help you remove the fuses under the glove box. I believe it’s yellow.

Place a flat bladed screw driver in one of the clip slots, twist and the inner will partially open allowing the clip to be removed...

As Gar said in the engine bay is a second fuse box, the fuse puller/tool is in there unless it has already been removed

Update -
there was a blown fuse which Suzuki sorted out as the car was under warranty.
But both ciggy lighter and the 12v in the boof have stopped working again - possibly down to my car phone charger?

Where will the blown fuse be - the fuse box on top of the battery or the fuse box in the passenger footwell, will it be a 15 amp or larger?
